The Varieties is currently closed to allow for a well-deserved £9.2m refurbishment supported by £5.2m from Leeds City Council and an award of £2.74m from the Heritage Lottery Fund.

Of the outstanding £1.26m, over £710k has already been rasised through endeavours by the Friends of City Varieties an donations from other valued supporters. The regeneration campaign is still seeking to raise the remaining £550k.
